Research:

• Medicinal Heterocyclic Chemistry:
  • Synthesis, reactivity, and biological activity of pyridazines and fused pyridazines
    
  • Synthesis of higher-annelated heterocyclic systems (e.g. fused carbazoles and indoles; new ellipticine and olivacine analogs as potential antitumor agents)
    
• Inverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder reactions. Here is an example.

• mol2ps, a utility program for 2D depiction of molecular structures (Postscript)
• MolDB5, a fully functional package of PHP and Perl scripts for running a molecular structure database
• Development of utilities for spectroscopic data processing
• JDXview, a JCAMP-DX spectrum viewer
• jdx2jdx, a command-line JCAMP-DX data transcoder
  
• IRview, a viewer for infrared spectra (Perkin-Elmer and JCAMP-DX format)
• MSview, a viewer for mass spectra in Wi(e)n-MS format
• Development of novel web services based on Robien's CSEARCH/NMRpredict spectral database and prediction system (in collaboration with Wolfgang Robien, Institute of Organic Chemistry, University of Vienna).
